The ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Raymond Campus Mathematics Department hosted the district seventh and eighth grade mathematics competition, sponsored by the Mississippi Council of Teachers of Mathematics, on March 1.
Each year the middle schools and junior high schools in the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ district are invited to send their top two seventh grade mathematics students and their top two eighth grade mathematics students to this competition. These participants take a written, standardized test.
The first and second place winners in each grade qualify for the state competition on April 6 at Mississippi College.
Team trophies of gold, bronze and silver are also awarded to the teams that amass the most total points on the exams.

Eighth grade: First place, Trevor Talbot, Vicksburg Junior High; second place, Jim Yen, Clinton Junior High; third place, Nickie Tiwari, Clinton Junior High, Kevin Guo, Northwest Rankin Middle School.
