The Opportunity You DeserveÂ
The Federal TRIO Programs (TRIO) are Federal outreach and student services programs designed to identify and provide services for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. TRIO programs target to serve and assist low-income individuals, first-generation college students and individuals with disabilities to progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to post baccalaureate programs.

Student Support Services
Student Support Services provides assistance in post-secondary course selection by assisting with information on the full range of student financial aid programs, benefits and resources for locating public and private scholarships. It offers education and counseling services designed to improve financial and economic literacy. It assist students in applying for admission to graduate and professional programs. And, the program assists students enrolled in two-year institutions to obtain financial assistance for enrollment in four-year programs.

Talent Search
The Talent Search program identifies and assists individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds who have the potential to succeed in higher education. The program provides academic, career, and financial counseling to its participants and encourages them to graduate from high school and continue on to complete a post-secondary education.
Serves middle and high schools in rural ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ and Copiah counties
- Academic, financial, career or personal counseling including advice on entry or re-entry to secondary or post-secondary programs
- Career exploration and aptitude assessment
- Tutorial services
- Information on post-secondary education
- Exposure to and assistance in completing college admissions and financial aid applications
- Assistance in preparing for college entrance exams
- Mentoring programs
- Special activities for sixth, seventh and eighth graders
- Workshops for the families of participants

Upward Bound
Upward Bound provides fundamental support to participants in their preparation for college entrance. The program provides opportunities for participants to succeed in their pre-college performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits. Upward Bound serves high school students from low-income/ first generation families.

The Upward Bound Math and Science program is designed to strengthen the math and science skills of participating students. The goal of the program is to help students recognize and develop their potential to excel in math and science and to encourage them to pursue post-secondary degrees in math and science, and ultimately careers in the math and science profession.
